LRT 1 resumes full operations
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said LRT 1 has resumed full commercial operations as of 1:30 p.m., Monday.
This after operations were disrupted by a catenary problem in the morning.
"Engineering, maintenance and safety teams were immediately dispatched in the area to institute the necessary repairs. Line 1 full line operations resumed at 1:30 pm after a thorough safety and testing check," the LRTA said.
LRTA spokesperson Hernando Cabrera earlier said a section of the power cable located between R. Papa and Abad Santos stations tripped.
Due to the glitch, only trips between Baclaran and Central Terminal stations remain normal. Trips between Central Terminal and Roosevelt stations, on the other hand, were stopped due to the technical problem.
