MANILA – Authorities are on the lookout for four male fraternity brothers who are facing homicide charges after allegedly killing another frat brother all because of the Korean pop song “Nobody” by the Wonder Girls.

Leo Santos was killed in Tondo, Manila last week after having an argument with his drunken frat brothers about the hit Korean pop song.

Members of the Santos family are now seeking justice because they cannot understand why Leo died.

According to a witness who goes by the name “Joselyn,” she saw Santos buying cigarettes early in the morning on the day before he died.

Santos then talked to his four frat brothers, who are allegedly Jonar Balagtas, Rodrigo Aguas, Jansen Maglangke and Joseph Gonzales.

“Lasing sila non, parang adik pa yung iba,” the witness told ABS-CBN News.

She said the simple chat led to an argument when one of the frat brothers sang “Nobody.”

When Santos asked for the title of the song, he was reportedly beaten up and stabbed.

“Tinanong niya kung ano yung pangalan ng kanta.. tapos sinuntok na siya,” the witness related.

Carmencita Santos, the victim’s mother, said: “Nag-aalaskahan sila, siguro hindi naintindihan kaya nagkaganon.”

Santos was rushed to the hospital but he passed away because of the depth of the stab wound.

While Santos is a frat member, his family clarified that Leo has long been inactive in the frat.

“Tanggap kong patay na siya... pero hindi ko matanggap kung bakit siya pinatay,” the victim’s mother added.

“Joselyn,” for her part, remarked: “Napakababaw nila para patayin siya dahil doon.” – Report from Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News
