PNP on full alert for 'Edsa Tayo' pork protest
MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be on full alert starting Tuesday night in preparation for the protest against pork barrel at the EDSA Shrine on Wednesday.
PNP spokesperson Sr. Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac said over 1,000 personnel -- 795 from the Eastern Police District (EPD) and 500 from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) -- will be deployed to the rally.
About 2,000 to 5,000 people are expected to join the protest.
Sindac said they have no information yet on threats and the possible spillover of the Zamboanga crisis to Metro Manila.
