Bomb hoax causes tension in QC building
MANILA – Around 300 call center agents were evacuated from a building in Quezon City following a bomb threat received by an employee early Thursday.
Authorities were called to investigate after an employee received an email detailing the alleged bomb planted on the second floor of the commercial-residential building located on the corner of G. Araneta and Aurora Avenue.
"Very specific ang threat niya. Nakabalot sa yellow na plastic. E Savemore dito sa baba so marami ang yellow plastic," said Senior Police Officer 2 Joselito Fernandez, team leader of the bomb squad.
Police arrived around 3 a.m. and immediately inspected the area. But the threat turned out to be a hoax.
However, the management of the call center suspects that the bomb threat email came from a dismissed employee.
Police said even if the report was false, bomb threats should still be taken seriously. Report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
