Rains trigger floods; Marikina River water level up
MANILA – Moderate to strong rains caused flooding in several areas in Metro Manila and nearby areas on Sunday.
As of 4:41 p.m., the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported that flood was gutter-deep along Magallanes and North Avenue; and 20 inches deep along C4 Lascano.
As of 5:22 p.m., Araneta Avnue corner Victory Street was not passable to light vehicles.
Meanwhile, water level at the Marikina River was at 14.5 meters as of 5:30 p.m.
At 2:55 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA issued its second yellow rainfall alert over Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Occidental Mindoro, Tarlac and portions of Batangas, Quezon and Nueva Ecija.
PAGASA said the moderate to occasionally heavy rains affecting these areas were most likely to continue until 6 p.m.
