Mayor offers P300k bounty for ad exec's killer
MANILA - Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel "Nene"Aguilar is offering an additional P300,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the killer or killers of advertising manager Kristelle "Kae" Davantes.
The reward is in addition to the P200,000 bounty offered by the police.
Aguilar made the offer to immediately arrest those responsible for the brutal slaying of Davantes. The Davantes family lives at Moonwalk Village in the same city.
The 25-year-old advertising executive was abducted and brutally killed by still unidentified people. The victim disappeared after leaving Bonifacio Global City at past 1 a.m. on September 7 from a night out with friends. Her body was found the following day by residents in Silang, Cavite under a bridge.
She bore multiple stab wounds and was apparently strangled.
Davantes was a senior account manager of McCann Worldgroup Philippines MRM, and holds a master's degree in marketing communications from De La Salle University.
Aguilar's reward offer came after the victim’s silver Toyota Altis (PIM 966) was found abandoned at corner Nickel and Silver Streets at Camella Homes in Barangay Pamplona 3.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Adolfo Samala confirmed that the recovered car was that of Davantes'.
Samala disclosed that his office received the report that a metallic beige Toyota Altis is parked in Camella Subdivision past 11 p.m. Saturday. The car did not have a license plate, but the conduction sticker matched the ad executive’s car.
Police said the car did not have any seats inside, perhaps as a way to remove evidence.
Pieces of cloth soaked in diesel were found in the car.
Probers said whoever brought the car there had planned to burn it in order to erase traces of evidence, but residents said the car alarm was accidentally triggered, drawing attention of residents.
