MANILA (2nd UPDATE) – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recovered a laptop computer and a mobile phone believed to belong to slain advertising executive Kae Davantes.
A Toshiba laptop and a white Apple iPhone 5 were retrieved from a store in Alabang, Muntinlupa where the suspect in the killing, Samuel Decimo, and two others allegedly traded it in exchange for P11,000 worth of clothes.
According to the NBI, the gadgets have been reformatted so they need to have these tested to see if they can still recover any data.

Decimo was arrested not for the Davantes case, but for attempting to rob passengers of a jeepney in Molino, Cavite.
During his interrogation, Decimo confessed he was part of the group who killed Davantes.
He said last Saturday, September 14, they were looking for a potential victim when they chanced upon Davantes alone in her car.
"Naka-kotse kami noon tapos nakasunod ang kotse ni Kae, nu’ng huminto kami, huminto din siya, ‘yun pala sa tapat na ng bahay niya ‘yun. Bumaba siya ng kotse niya, binuksan niya ‘yung gate ng bahay nila, saka na siya tinutukan,” he said.
Three members of their group boarded Davantes’s car while Decimo followed in another vehicle.
When they reached Silang, Cavite, they realized the victim had seen their car's license plate and the face of one of the suspects.
"Napilitian dahil ‘yung isa naming kasama mamukhaan,” said Decimo.
He admits he was the one who wiped clean the victim’s car to remove their finger prints
He said he committed the crime so he can pay for hospital expenses of his wife who recently gave birth.
“Humihingi ako ng pasensya at pagsisihan ko ‘tong nagawa ko,” he said. -- Report from Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News
