Orange rain alert up in NCR, nearby areas
MANILA – State weather bureau raised an orange rainfall advisory over Metro Manila and nearby areas on Monday morning.
In its 8:45 a.m., PAGASA said "heavy to at times intense" rainfall will affect Metro Manila, Zambales, and Bataan in the next three hours.
"Moderate to heavy" rains will also affect Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga and portions of Laguna, Quezon, Cavite, and Occidental Mindoro in the next three hours.
The orange rainfall advisory is raised in areas where rainfall is between 15 mm and 30 millimeters within one hour.
PAGASA forecaster Meno Mendoza said the moderate to heavy rains being experienced over parts of Luzon since Sunday are due to the southwest monsoon being enhanced by tropical storm Pabuk located outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Mendoza said Pabuk may enter PAR but is not expected to hit land.
The continuous rains and flooding have triggered the suspension of classes and number coding in Metro Manila.
