Police detained two foreign nationals from Nigeria and the Ivory Coast after they were caught while allegedly using a stolen credit card to purchase concert tickets at a Makati City mall.

At the detention center of the Southern Police District's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the Nigerian identified as Olurumbi Tosin Terry and Konan Kouame demanded that they be released from custody.

"We're not criminals, give us lawyer. where's human rights here?" Terry said.

Kouame, meanwhile, said, "I'm just a tourist here, you can call our embassy."

Authorities said the two were arrested after Ticketworld, an online ticket seller, filed a complaint.

It was learned that the suspects' modus operandi is to buy tickets online using the stolen credit card.

The illegal purchases were discovered after the credit card's true owner received the billing. The card's real owner is abroad.

Police said after receiving the complaint, they set up a dragnet for the suspects who were using two Filipinas as their mules.

Probers said they will use the still unidentified Filipinas as their witnesses against the suspects.

Romy Alonzo of Ticketworld, meanwhile, said they will press charges since the suspects have also victmized them in the past.

Police said the suspects will face charges for swindling, estafa and falsification of private identity and documents. With a report from Wheng Hidalgo, ABS-CBN News
