Manila Water says 90% of East Zone water supply remain potable
MANILA - Manila Water, in an advisory Sunday, said that with the exception of flooded areas, 90% of its potable water supply remain available to residents of Metro Manila's East Zone which its area of coverage.
The East Zone comprises Makati, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, most parts of Quezon City, some parts of Manila, and the municipalities of San Juan, Taguig, and Pateros. It also covers cities and municipalities in the Rizal province further east of Metro Manila.
Corporate Communications head Jeric Sevilla siad the exceptions are the flooded areas of San Mateo, Rodriguez, Pasig, Taytay, Angono, Binangonan and Marikina.
Manila Water said 18 water tankers have been mobilized to provide water supply to areas in San Mateo and San Rafael in Rodriguez in Rizal province.
Manila Water also advised the public to boil their water especially in areas that were flooded and whose internal plumbing systems may be leak-prone to avoid contamination.
