MANILA - The death toll in the aftermath of typhoon “Ondoy” has reached 22 in Antipolo City.

The list included a pregnant woman and seven children who were buried in a landslide.

Four others are still missing, reports said.

Enrico Colagong wept silently as he dug into the mud with a shovel in the hopes of finding his one year old son, Ian.

Ian was inside the house with his mother and six cousins when the flashflood occurred at the height of “Ondoy” in Sitio Sampalukan in San Jose last Saturday.

"May dala pa naman akong pasalubong tapos ito dadatnan ko,” said Colagong.

Colagong’s wife sustained injuries from the incident.

Rescuers recovered the remains of the six children.

Mylene Vega said two of those recovered were her children. She is thankful that she was able to save her daughter Danika who was almost buried alive.

A flashflood also wiped out the houses of Pablo and Iluminada Iglesias and the De la Rama family.

The De la Rama’s 18-year-old daughter, Geraldine, was swept away by raging floodwaters and mud.

Meanwhile, a boy identified as “Marvin” is still traumatized after he and three other siblings were buried in mud. Luckily, the siblings were immediately rescued by neighbors.

However, the boy’s father and pregnant mother did not survive the incident.

"Sinabihan namin sila na lumikas na pero matigas ang kanilang ulo,” said a Barangay Tanod.

Another resident identified as Boy Vinzon said he has no choice but to continue living in the area.

"Paano kami aalis? San kami tiitira? Kayong mga nasa gobyerno puro kayo sagutan lang sa Senado, Vinzon said.

The city of Antipolo has appealed to the national government for help after more than 11,000 families were affected by the typhoon. Report from Dominic Almelor, ABS-CBN News

Foster Parent

I feel sorry for the poor people affected by the typhoon.I would like to be the foster parent of the kids who lost their dad and pregnant mom short time until they find a new home. Those poor kids must feel lost, confused and traumatized by what happened. I would like to take care of them and somehow ease the trauma by making them feel theyre still part of a family.

HOW?anybody who knows the procedure let me know pls.I know there are others out there who would like to do d same
