'Task Force Commonwealth' chief killed
MANILA, Philippines – The chief of "Task Force Commonwealth" was shot dead on Tuesday.
Task force chief Manuel Buncio, who heads the police unit tasked at maintaining peace in the crime-prone Commonwealth area, had just stepped out of the police station when he was shot dead by one of two men riding a motorcycle.
One of the suspects then alighted the motorcycle and shot again Buncio, who was already down.
Buncio was declared dead on arrival at a hospital. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the head, and two others to the chest.
Several policemen were able to fire back at the suspects, killing one of the perpetrators only identified as "Bukno". – report from Robert Mano, dzMM
