Cops name suspect in FEU stabbing
MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Police District (MPD) has named one of the suspects who allegedly stabbed a University of Sto. Tomas (UST) student inside the campus of Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila on Tuesday.
MPD director Chief Supt. Alex Gutierrez identified the suspect as Cristina Acosta, a graduating nursing student from FEU.
Gutierrez said Acosta may face charges of attempted homicide for allegedly stabbing Lourdes Reyes, an IT student from UST.
Reyes is now in stable condition after she was attacked by 5 female suspects and was stabbed 6 times.
She is still confined at the Chinese General Hospital.
FEU officials have condemned the incident and said they will conduct their own investigation. -- Report from Ricky Velasco, dzMM
