MMDA launches 'Linis Palengke' project
MANILA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday launched its "Linis Palengke" project which aims to recognize the capital's cleanest public market.
The MMDA said the project was launched in preparation for the holiday season.
Under the project, the MMDA and other concerned government agencies will help in the cleaning of public markets.
The campaign seeks to eradicate flooding in public market due to clogged drainage systems, and the piling up of garbage due to poor management.
The winner of the competition will be announced in January next year.
MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the agency's latest project is supported by Metro Manila mayors. – report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
