Suspect in Taguig grenade blast nabbed
MANILA – A suspect in the grenade explosion that injured 9 people in Bicutan, Taguig Wednesday night has been arrested by police.
The suspect, Lester Daga Zapata, was tagged as the one who threw a grenade during a fight between youths at 29-G 10th Avenue, North Signal Village at around 10:15 p.m.
Zapata denied the allegations, saying he was also a victim in the blast.
Police are set to file charges of illegal possession of explosives and multiple frustrated homicide against Zapata.
Two of the victims, Jonathan Medaig and 10-year-old Ricardo Ampil, are in critical condition because of injuries they sustained in the blast.
