362 arrested for violating poll gun ban
MANILA - The number of election gun ban violators nationwide has climbed to 362, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, 341 civilians, 5 policemen, 3 soldiers, 2 government officials and 11 security guards have been arrested.
Police have also confiscated a total of 280 firearms, 116 bladed weapons, 55 grenades, 80 other types of explosives, and 2,287 ammunition.
The gun ban took effect last September 28 as the 45-day election period for the October 28 barangay elections started.
It will be in effect until November 12, or 15 days after the polls.
