Groom-to-be shot dead in Sta. Mesa
MANILA, Philippines – A woman was seething with anger after the man she was to wed next week was allegedly killed by a family friend in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Queenie Hernandez was raging when she faced Oscar “Oca” Niyegas, the man who allegedly shot her boyfriend Marlon Camasis on Tuesday night.
Hernandez and Camasis were scheduled to tie the knot next week.
While in the hospital, Camasis allegedly uttered the name “Oca” before he died.
Niyegas, who is a friend of the victim’s parents, was cornered by police in a bridge in San Juan. He denied the accusation against him.
“Nahaharap siya sa salang pagpatay batay sa matibay na testimonya ng kasama,” said Police Officer 3 Rodel Benitez.
Authorities are looking into drug dealing as the possible motive behind the crime.
Meanwhile, police are tracking down Niyegas’ cohorts who were only identified as alias Tsokoleit and Bude. Report from Jomel Gutierrez, ABS-CBN News
