Man pinned under MRT train
MANILA (UPDATE) -- Operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) were temporarily suspended Friday afternoon after a man was pinned under an MRT coach between the Cubao and Kamuning stations.
A radio dzMM report said the incident occurred in the MRT's northbound lane, near EDSA Nepa Q. Mart, at around 3:45 p.m.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the man, who is believed to be suffering from a mental illness, was trying to cross the tracks while a train was approaching.
The man, who has yet to be identified, sustained injuries on the head and the right side of his abdomen after being pinned under the train.
Authorities said he was conscious when he was rescued.
He was brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
