NCRPO chief sacks 2 cops for not wearing helmets
MANILA -- National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo has ordered the relief of two cops in Manila after they were caught driving motorcycles without helmets.
According to Garbo, he spotted PO1 Andrei Nuñez and PO1 Mark Jason Paez from the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 3 riding their motorcycles without helmets while he was on his way to Quezon City to conduct inspections.
Garbo added he was also irked to see that one of the policemen was sporting an unshaven beard.
Aside from Nuñez and Paez, Garbo also fired their immediate superiors, police community precinct commander Sr. Insp. Robinson Maranion and MPD Station 3 Chief Supt. Ricardo Layug, for command responsibility.
Garbo reminded police personnel to always comply with grooming regulations and serve as good examples to the public.
On Tuesday, eight police officers from Muntinlupa City Police Department were also sacked by the NCRPO chief for tardiness and absenteeism. -- Reports from Johnson Manabat, dzMM; Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
