Authorities arrested a Manila policeman and his accomplice for robbing an Indian national in Cainta, Rizal early Monday.

Initial radio dzMM reports said Police Officer 1 Donato Salazar of the Manila Police District was stopped at a checkpoint on Imelda Avenue, Cainta for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Police said Salazar was riding tandem with a certain Patrick de Guzman of Tondo, Manila.

Minutes later, an Indian national came running to the police and said he was robbed at gunpoint by two men riding a motorcycle on Imelda Avenue. Police immediately arrested Salazar and de Guzman after the Indian identified them as the robbers.

Police found a 9mm Beretta belonging to Salazar.

Authorities are set to file robbery charges against Salazar and de Guzman.
