Informant killed in QC drug raid
MANILA, Philippines – A police informant was killed and a cop was wounded in a shootout with alleged members of the Tarzan drug and robbery group along BIR Road in Quezon City Tuesday.
The still unidentified informant was rushed to the East Avenue Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
PO3 Frederick Gracillas was wounded in the incident.
Two suspects were arrested, but police failed to arrest a certain Rizalino alias “Tarzan”, who is allegedly the leader of the group.
At least 7 gunmen were able to escape, authorities said.
“Ituturo sana sa amin ‘yung mga suspek, niyakap nung [informant] namin tapos pinutukan na siya. Notorious na supplier sila ng drugs sa lugar na ito,” said Supt. Marcelino Pedroso of Quezon City Police District Station 10.
One of the arrested suspects, 18-year-old Monim Gudeg, admitted to selling drugs.
A security guard was also arrested but he denied his involvement with the drug group.
Police are conducting a manhunt to arrest the other suspects. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
