Two alleged motorcycle thieves killed in QC
MANILA – Two suspected motorcycle thieves were killed in a police chase in Quezon City before dawn Thursday.
The suspects, on board separate motorcycles, were flagged down by checkpoint police along N.S. Amoranto Street for not wearing helmets.
However, instead of stopping, the suspects drove past the checkpoint, prompting the policemen to chase them, according to Senior Inspector Jun Lorenzo, chief of Quezon City Police District's Anti-Carnapping Unit.
The suspects were cornered and shot dead along Araneta Avenue after exchanging fires with the police.
Police recovered a caliber .38 pistol from the suspects. One of the two motorcycles used by the suspects may have been stolen. Lorenzo said prior to the shootout, they received a report that a motorcycle was stolen in Sto. Domingo area. – report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
