Families visit graves of Zamboanga's unsung heroes
MANILA -- Families on Friday visited the graves of soldiers who lost their lives in the Zamboanga siege at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
The fallen soldiers' families, who were still emotional over the death of their loved ones, told stories of how difficult it was to accept their fate.
One father is still seeking justice for what happened. He also demanded that more attention and benefits be given to soldiers who died during the battle.
The families said these soldiers should not be forgotten as they are the unsung heroes of the country.
At least 48,000 soldiers are buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
As the country marked the All Saints' Day on Friday, the Libingan ng mga Bayani was jam-packed with people and met with long lines at the entrance.
Strict security was also enforced in the cemetery.
