Manila cemetery graves fall prey to vandals
MANILA - More than 40 known personalities are buried at the Manila North Cemetery.
They include President Manuel Roxas, President Sergio Osmeña, Senator Claro M. Recto, former Manila Mayor Arsenio Lacson, Fernando Poe Jr., and former Quezon Coty Mayor Tomas Norato.
ABS-CBN News visited their graves and noticed that almost all have caretakers.
Arsenic Lacson, a son of the former Manila mayor, said they have a caretaker at his father's grave because the bronze statue of Lacson at the Manila Baywalk was vandalized and its hands were broken off and stolen.
He said their family also heard that bronze letters on tombs were being stolen.
Graves that have been vandalized include those of Roxas and Martial Law era activist Carmen Planas. - report from Zyann Ambrosio, ABS-CBN News
