MANILA - A head coach of a team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) figured in an accident at Meralco Avenue area in Pasig City Monday evening.

A Toyota RAV4 with plate number TPJ 245 reportedly slammed into a concrete barrier along Meralco Avenue and then hit the center island around 6:45 p.m. Monday evening.

The impact caused the vehicle’s bumper and a wheel to get separated from the vehicle aside from damaging the front right side of the sports utility vehicle.

A traffic enforcer said the driver of the vehicle could have missed seeing the concrete barrier due to a heavy downpour at that time.

An ABS-CBN News team failed to see the driver of the Toyota RAV4 but Christian Estilo, a traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, identified the driver as Carlos Garcia, coach of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Pasig’s traffic management office also confirmed that Garcia figured in the incident and added that PBA coach did not suffer any injury in the incident.
