MANILA, Philippines - One of the suspects arrested by the police admitted planning to hurt ABS-CBN talent Julie Ann Rodelas.

She did not think it will lead to murder, however.

In an interview with dzMM’s Radyo Patrol, suspect Althea Altamerano claimed she just wanted to teach Rodelas a lesson for allegedly spreading rumors about her.

Altamerano, however, stressed that she had no plans of killing Rodelas.

"Hindi ko alam na ganun yung gagawin nila e. Sabi niya po sa akin, turuan ng leksyon, lumpuhin daw po. Sabi ni JR (Quiambao) sa akin, basta sabi niya po siya raw po ang bahala. Noong una po hindi po ako pumayag. Pero sabi niya marunong raw po siya nun, kaya sabi ko bahala ka sige," she admitted.

Authorities nabbed Altamerano and her boyfriend Quiambao in Apalit, Pampanga at around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Two other suspects Jayman Insadje and Gelan Pasawilan were also arrested in a follow-up operation in Quezon City on Sunday, while another suspect Fahad Usman got killed in the encounter.

Ready to face charges

According to Altamerano, she is ready to face the charges against her.

"Alam ko po, ako po yung may kasalanan. Opo, [handa kong panagutan]," she said. "Mali ko po. Mali ko po na pumayag ako. Ako po 'yung nagdala kay Julie. Kaya pala kino-convince niya ko na dalhin si Julie run, gagahasain pala."

Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Rodel Marcel of the Quezon City Police District’s Investigation and Detection Unit said they were able to resolve the crime because of the receipt of a purchased burger that was found in a plastic bag held by Rodelas when she was recovered.

A CCTV footage showed it was Quiambao who bought the burger in a fast food chain.

Authorities said it is still unclear as to why Rodelas had the burger, which Quiambao supposedly bought for Altamerano.

Marcel said the suspects also did not intend to tell the police about the crime but a motorist saw the incident and reported it to the authorities, who even caught Altamerano crying.

A witness was also able to get the plate number of the black Mitsubishi Montero, which was used when the victim was abducted near the World Trade Center last Tuesday.

Further investigation is still underway, with the police still trying to hunt down two more suspects. – from a report by Dennis Datu, dzMM
