MANILA – A man whose modus operandi is to victimize women college students has been arrested and even beaten up Wednesday evening.

Police said Cyrus Natacamora, 25, approaches ladies and offers them a date with a Japanese man and a fee of P10,000 or more.

The suspect, however, is just aiming to steal the victim’s cellphone.

This was what happened to Jane, a 3rd year chemical engineering student.

Jane said she lacked money to pay for her tuition and was lured into going on a date with the Japanese.

She said Natacamora convinced her because he knew how to speak Nihongo (Japanese Language). The suspect reportedly has Japanese ancestry.

Natacamora then borrowed her cellphone and told her that he would leave for a while to fetch her Japanese date.

The suspect did not return to the restaurant where Jane was waiting. She said she did not only lose her cellphone, she also had to pay for the bill at the restaurant.

Natacamora was arrested when he did the same thing to another woman on Wednesday. He brought the woman to the same restaurant, unaware that the establishment’s staff already knew his modus operandi.

A waitress recognized him and he was held by security guards thereafter. It has been revealed that Natacamora has been playing cupid for unsuspecting Filipino women for 3 years. – Report from Dominic Almelor, ABS-CBN News
