A suspended policeman shot his girlfriend to death and another policeman in a shootout incident late Monday night on Tandang Sora Avenue, Quezon City.

The Quezon City Police District said Senior Police Officer 1 Sonny Bajarin, who was being investigated for his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities, shot dead his girlfriend, Nina Ramos, in a shooting frenzy at a wake on Tandang Sora Avenue.

Two policemen, identified only as Police Officers 2 Joaquin and Hayub Abdullah responded to the shooting incident.

Investigators said Bajarin fired his gun at the two responding policemen while escaping on board a tricycle.

Bajarin was able to fatally shoot Joaquin and critically wounded Abdullah during the encounter. Bajarin also died in the shootout. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
