2 boys nabbed for stealing car parts in Manila
MANILA, Philippines – Two minors were arrested by authorities on Wednesday for stealing car parts from an auto supply shop in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The suspects, a 14-year old and an 11-year old, were caught after village officials followed a trail of oil from an auto supply shop in Batangas St. to a nearby house where the suspects were hiding.
Caretaker Jake Fernandez said the boys stole 6 auto transmission units from his shop.
Authorities said missing car parts from warehouses and shops in the area, particularly in Severino Reyes St., have been a problem.
Village officials said minors are usually employed by syndicates because aside from being able to sneak inside the shops, they will not be held liable because of their age. -- Report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
