MANILA, Philippines - A couple is facing possible video piracy charges for trying to record the movie they were watching inside a mall in Ortigas.

Caught in the act of video piracy were Bernard Garcia, 24, and Heidi Ferwelo. Security guard Ronnie Balasanos said the two tried to use a cellphone camera to record the movie they were watching.

One of the two suspects said they were merely having fun when they tried to record the film inside the moviehouse. The movie is one of the entries in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

Optical Media Board chairman Ronnie Ricketts said the public should follow the country's strict video piracy laws.
