Two workers died and another sustained burn wounds all over his body after fire razed a firecracker factory in Bocaue town, Bulacan province, Friday night.

Initial reports identified the fatalities as brothers Edwin and Pedrito Torcida while the injured victim was Roger Asero, who was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.

A separate report, meanwhile, said the fatalities were Asero and Pedrito Torcida while his brother Edwin was the one rushed to the government hospital in Manila.

Inspector Roderick Marquez, Bocaue fire chief, said they are looking at two possible causes of the fire that started from the victims' quarters in Barangay Duhat around 10:30 p.m.

Marquez said the fire could have been caused by an overheated electric fan or a lighted cigarette because there were claims that the three victims were having a drinking session inside their quarters before the deadly blaze.

The fire official said the fire quickly spread and razed the factory because of the firecracker chemicals stored at the workers' quarters.

Firemen pacified the fire after midnight.

The incident was still being investigated by arson probers.
