Burglars carted away expensive equipment from a regional government hospital in Batangas province, Tuesday night.
Dr. Renato Dimayuga, Department of Health regional director, said unidentified burglars were able to steal three of the 10 cardiac monitors of the Batangas Regional Hospital in Batangas City.
Dimayuga said the equipment's worth was P900,000.
Police suspect that three to four burglars entered the hospital through the ceiling and crawled all the way to the facility's intensive care section.
Investigators believe the burglars are familiar with the hospital's blueprint and the incident could have been an inside job.
Dimayuga said investigators have started questioning the hispital's medical staff one-by-one.
Workers hired for a construction project at the hospital's compound will also be included in the questioning, the doctor said.
