Food poisoning downs siblings in Zambo
MANILA Philippines - Two brothers allegedly died of food poisoning in Barangay Sibulao, Zamboanga City.
Last January 1, RJ Arcillas, died after suffering severe stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea.
Two days after his brother’s death, Ramon Arcillas, passed away.
The boys’ mother, Zenaida, said her sons have been complaining about their sickness since December 30.
However, she she was not able to bring the boys to the hospital due to financial problems.
With the help of some officials in their village, Zenaida was able to send her 2 grandchildren suffering from similar symptoms to Zamboanga City Medical Center.
She said the kids are still experiencing diarrhea and that they are still under medication.
Zamboanga City health officer Dr. Rodel Agbulos said he already had the Arcillas family’s water source examined.
He said the water tested negative for bacteria, which could have caused cholera or diarrhea, so they are now looking into the possibility of food poisoning. – Report from RJ Rosalado, ABS-CBN News Zamboanga City
