A service manager of a car dealer in Iloilo City was gunned down in broad daylight in Diversion Road, Mandurriao.
Victim Rustico Vega had just alighted from a jeepney when two unidentified persons riding in a black motorcycle shot him using an automatic pistol. A bystander, Jinky Pedrajas, was also hit by a stray bullet in the shooting.
The two victims were immediately brought to Iloilo Doctors Hospital but only Vega died an hour after the incident.
More than 20 empty shells of a caliber 9mm pistol were recovered by Scene of the Crime Operation operatives. Investigators also found bullet holes in the vehicles parked in front of the showroom.
Police investigation showed that the victim had received a death threat two months ago. Chief Inspector Orly Gabinete said police are eyeing the possibility that the murder is work-related and the suspects are believed to be guns-for-hire.
Iloilo City Police Office has already launched a massive manhunt operation to capture the suspects.
