MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – A feud between husband and wife became literally explosive after the man set off a piece of dynamite inside their house, killing them both as well as their two children in Zamboanga City past midnight Tuesday.

Tigsali and Jannuka Subbaani and their 17-year-old son Pansidal Agsali died after Tigsali set off a piece of dynamite inside their house in Purok 4, Barangay Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City at around 1 a.m.

The couple’s youngest child, Goa-Goa Agsali, 3, died in the hospital.

Authorities said Tigsali allegedly set off the explosive, which was used in illegal fishing, during a heated argument with Jannuka.

Neighbor Zarina Balidani said she saw Tigsali's body thrown out of the house because of the impact of the explosion. The house was located on the seashore.

The couple’s 2 other children Singa Agsali, 10, and Puia Agsali, 9, are in critical condition at the Zamboanga City Medical Center after sustaining shrapnel injuries.

Barangay Rio Hondo chairman Rozdy Mukaram admitted that dynamite fishing is rampant in his area. He explained most families resort to the illegal activity in order to earn more money. – Reports from Liezel Lacastesantos and RJ Rosalado, ABS-CBN News Zamboanga
