TACLOBAN CITY -- Some of the tents used as evacuation centers by families affected by super typhoon 'Yolanda' were flooded on Sunday due to strong rains caused by a prevailing low pressure area (LPA) affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

Some of the residents of Brgy. 88 in San Jose experienced knee-high floods, forcing residents to move their tents near the highway.

Residents are now worried that the strong rains will continue to pour and that the floods will continue to rise.

They are also complaining that the rains and floods remind them of what they experienced more than two months ago when "Yolanda" struck their city.

Despite the existence of bunk house being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways in the city, residents said they haven't received any offer to live in these houses.

Even their local barangay officials have not informed them of other areas where they can relocate to.

Some residents are also starting to get sick due to the cold weather. They also worry about cooking, as there are only a few families who own gas stoves.

There are also no comfort rooms in most of the tents.

In some of the tents in Brgy. 88, two to three families live inside a single tent. -- with a report from Geron Ponferrada, ABS-CBN News Tacloban
