MANILA, Philippines (1st UPDATE) - The son of Marcos lawyer, Oliver Lozano, was found dumped and burned in Porac, Pampanga days after being abducted by still unidentified men.

Emerson Lozano had been missing since January 12.

His family believed he was abducted after police found the charred remains of his companion, Ernanie Sensil, the next day in Tarlac province.

Sensil had a bullet hole in the head, and his remains were burned, police said.

On January 14, police found another burned body at Barangay Mancatian in Porac, Pampanga.

The dental records of Emerson matched the findings of the dental pathology done by the Philippine National Police Crime Lab.

His body was brought home Monday morning. The Lozano family has not released any statement.

PNP sets up task force

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said PNP Chief Director-General Raul Bacalzo has ordered the creation of a special investigation task force which "will dig deeper" into the Lozano case and a similar one involving the son of a car dealer, Arsenio 'Boy' Evangelista.

"We're going to meet with the CIDG [Criminal Investigation and Detection Group] in order to get the details from concerned units like QCPD [Quezon City Police District], Region 3, HPG [Highway Patrol Group]. We have to gather all the details first before we could say for a fact that this is indeed a case or a specific case," he said.

Espina said that they are withholding certain details so as to not jeopardize police operations, but they have leads to a suspect.

New modus?

Espina would not conclusively say that the Lozano-Evangelista cases show a new modus operandi of criminal groups.

"It may have been just a ploy to achieve whatever their objective would be. Rereviewhin po natin lahat so we can come up with a conclusive evidence behind the motive. Wala pa tayo ma-co-conclude tungkol diyan sa Lozano-Evangelista case. Titingnan po muna nating ang puno't dulo ng lahat para malaman nating kung ano ang objective at motive behind this case," Espina said.

"Tingnan nating kasi medyo gory yung nangyari parang hindi carnapper. Pag carnapping kasi, ang typical ay pera-pera lang ang habol pero ito, gory. But again, I can't say anything conclusive," he added.
