BATANGAS – Batangas governor Vilma Santos Recto was saddened with the untimely relief of one of her trusted men, Batangas provincial director Senior Superintendent Rosauro Acio, because of the San Juan shooting incident.

“I felt sad upon learning the decision, I have high respect to PD (provincial director) Atty. Rosauro Acio because we have implemented projects and programs to maintain the peace and order in the province na naging very effective sa community,” she said.

Santos, however, would not want to meddle with the case saying: “Our policemen are not devolved sa local, they are still under the national government, so we will just wait for the result of the investigation.”

“I feel sad pero kailangan sumunod sa utos ng batas, my main concern and priority is the peace and order of the province,” Santos added.

Acio, together with Supt. Raul Tacaca, head of the Provincial Intelligence Office and Chief Inspector Rodolfo Ama, chief of the Batangas SWAT and San Juan police chief Superintendent Elpidio Ramirez and other police officers in San Juan town were relieved from their post after the arrest and killing of Fernando Morales alias Pandoy last Monday morning.

He said the fact-finding team started its investigation Tuesday evening at Morales’ house in Barangay Lipahan, San Juan, Batangas where the police supposedly will serve a warrant of arrest against Morales that turned into an alleged shoot-out.

Acio said his Deputy for Administration Superintendent George Dadulo will take his place as acting Provincial Director until the PNP hierarchy assigns an officer-in-charge.

Santos also forwarded a text message sent by Acio when the former asked the status of the San Juan incident that led to his relief: “Mam don’t be sad na, everything happens for a reason po. I only have my best intentions for Batangas and be part of your vision for a progressive and peaceful Batangas. You will always be my governor, may God bless you and Batangas.”
