Shabu-making chemicals seized in Bukidnon
MANILA, Philippines - Police on Thursday night arrested 6 people for transporting shabu-making ingredients in Sumilao town, Bukidnon province.
Chief Superintendent Danilo Empedrad, Northern Mindanao regional police chief, said the suspects were on board 4 Isuzu trucks loaded with shabu-making chemicals when intercepted by members of the Sumilao Police Station at a checkpoint in Barangay San Vicente around 10:45 p.m.
Empedrad said the suspects came from Cagayan de Oro City and were about to transport the chemicals to Wao town in Lanao del Sur province.
He said that based on the initial examination of the regional Crime Laboratory, chemicals seized from the suspects include acetone, ephedrine, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, activated carbon and phosphorous.
Ephedrine is the main ingredient for making methamphetamine hydrochloride, famously called shabu.
