MANILA, Philippines – A former vice-mayor of an Ilocos Sur town was shot dead on Tuesday night.

Anthony “Tony Boy” Que, former vice-mayor of Santo Domingo town, was shot dead in San Ildefonso by an undetermined number of gunmen using .45-caliber and 9-mm pistols.

Que was talking to a woman when he was gunned down by the suspects, who immediately fled the area.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

An investigation was launched to determine the motive behind the killing.

Que served as the vice mayor of Santo Domingo from 2007 to 2010. He ran for re-election in 2010 but lost to Floro Tadena. – report from Bryan Realgo, ABS-CBN News Northern Luzon
