Authorities arrested 2 men allegedly involved in the kidnapping of an Indian national in Calauag, Quezon province.

Police arrested Harlito Velasco and Gilbert Pascua, said to be members of the Velasco Paracale robbery and kidnap-for-ransom group.

Three other suspects identified as Rustan Encallado, one alias Rey, and a certain alias Sally, were able to escape.

Velasco and Pascua were said to be responsible for Tuesday’s kidnapping of 25-year-old businessman Val Sheng. The victim is an Indian national and a resident of Lopez.

Velasco, of Camarines Norte, was nabbed in Barangay Sta. Maria while reportedly negotiating with the victim’s family.

The negotiation also led to the identification and arrest of Pascua, a branch manager of an interior design company who acted as lookout of their safe house.

Also recovered from the suspects were a shot gun and caliber .45 ammunitions.
