COTABATO CITY, Philippines - Mother Kabuntalan Mayor Salaban Diocolano, Cotabato City Vice Mayor Muslimin Sema and 4 other allies of Sema held a press conference on Friday after the Police Regional Office 12 announced that they are all involved in the kidnapping of Adin Yu.

Yu was abducted on January 8, 2010 in front of Estosan Garden Hotel in Cotabato City.

Sema's camp showed members of media a copy of the case filed before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15 in Cotabato City with Criminal Case # 2011-4296.

Sema, Diocolano, Alim Budi, City Councilor Sukarno Sema, retired Col. Ismael Daulog and Datu Rolly Solano were included in the amended list of suspects in the kidnapping case which numbered 29 people.

The Cotabato City Police Office earlier filed a kidnapping and serious illegal detention case against 7 individuals identified as:

  • Mohalidin Baguilan,
  • Musib Indal,
  • Teng Sipe,
  • Randy Zamora alias Ustadz Jack Utto,
  • Abusama Gombay alias Datu Sultan Tungal or Tong Gombay or Tony Bakar,
  • Jomar Guiamat @ Jojo,
  • Salindatu Dimalin @ Samad Dimalin@ Abdullah Salindatu@Sammy@ Kindat and Samir Abdulla.

The 7 were arrested in General Santos City.

"Kung noon nga na rebelde pa ‘ko hindi ko nagawang mangidnap, ngayon pa kaya na nakakain ako ng tatlong beses sa isang araw. I’m not a fool," said the Cotabato City vice mayor.

Sema is chair of the Moro National Liberation Front's Central Committee.

Sema and Diocolano said they believe that the filing of the kidnap raps is a clear case of political harassment. Sema also said that the case filed against them is a mere tactic of the police to divert the issue from the unresolved kidnapping cases in the city.

"Maduming paninira ito sa amin kasama ang mga kasama ko para sirain ang pangalan ko. Pero hindi ako nababahala kasi gawa-gawa lang ito," Sema said.

Meantime, Sema's legal counsel, Atty. Omar Yasser Sema, questioned the city prosecutor for his alleged improper filing of the case.

"The prosecution deny the oppositors because of the filing of the case at RTC branch 15 without preliminary investigation," Atty. Sema said.

Vice Mayor Sema also said that the filing of charges against him will not stop him from helping the Yu family to locate the abducted Adin.

"Dapat mahubaran ng maskara kung mga taong involved sa kaso...Kung sa legal....sa police or military kung sino ba talaga ang tunay na sangkot," Vice Mayor Sema said.

Sema's camp has filed an opposition to the motion to admit amended information and additional evidence before the court.
