MANILA, Philippines - Two people riding a motorcycle were killed after they met an accident along Mac Arthur Drive in Barangay Tabuc, Suba Jaro, Iloilo City on Friday midnight.

Driver Mhekel Cabarle and his passenger Sonny Wagas suffered severe injuries and were declared dead on arrival at the West Visayas State University Hospital in the province.

Village watchman Ely Serra said the victims were thrown off their motorcycle after the driver lost control while taking a turn at high speed.

Serra said the two were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Authorities are still investigating the accident. They suspect the driver was drunk. - Report from Jenel Baclay, ABS-CBN News
