MANILA - Japan-based company Sony has continued its support for the rebuilding efforts in areas that were devastated by super typhoon 'Yolanda.'

The tech giant has donated a total of 57 million yen (P25 million) to be used in providing equipment and assistance, including shelter repair kits to the Habitat for Humanity, Philippine Red Cross, and other various charity organizations for the affected areas.

“Though it’s been months since Typhoon Yolanda destroyed houses in the Visayas region, families and local communities are still experiencing the effects of the calamity till this day, and that is why we will continue to extend our help and support to those who are in need,” explained Sony President Yasushi Asaoka in a statement.

The company has also donated portable chargers and other products to further assist in the on-going relief efforts.

“Our employees will also be providing physical help to the affected areas in the coming weeks, and help rebuild the damaged houses with the local community,” he added.
