5-hour fire grips Surigao mall

MANILA, Philippines – A fire hit a mall in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte before dawn Thursday, lasting for 5 hours before it was put out.
The fire struck the Metro Surigao Shopping Center along Rizal Borromeo Street past 3 a.m.
The fire allegedly started in the mall’s first floor, where the grocery was located. It spread quickly to the second where apparels were stored.
No one was injured in the blaze. The fire was declared out at around 8 a.m.
Fire officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire. – report from Charmaine Awitan, ABS-CBN News Caraga
