MANILA, Philippines - Heavy rains hampered anew the search, rescue and retrieval operations for 64 people still missing after an earthquake hit Negros Oriental last week.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council executive director Benito Ramos said the rains have already caused a landslide in Tinayunan village in Guihulngan City. He said no one was reported killed or injured.

He said the incident triggered the evacuation of about 200 people living near a creek due to possible flashfloods.

He said the creek “now seems a temporary dam, that's why about 200 people have been evacuated. Once it (creek) is full of water, it may trigger flashfloods.”

Ramos said the NDRRMC is on "red alert" due to the LPA, which is also threatening Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
