MANILA, Philippines – Some towns in the province of Leyte were submerged in flood waters because of nonstop rains since Saturday.
An alert level 3 was already raised in Pastrana, Tanauan, Dagami and Palo.
These towns are located near Binahaan Watershed, where water level quickly rises.
Some streets in Tacloban City are also flooded.
According to the Office of the Civil Defense, no families have evacuated yet because of the floods.
Weather state bureau PAGASA said the incessant rains experienced in the island of Visayas are due to the tail end of a cold front and a low pressure area spotted around the area of Bukidnon. – Report from Geron Ponferrada, ABS-CBN News Tacloban
