MANILA, Philippines – A driver died after his 10-wheeler truck fell off a bridge in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao on Monday afternoon.

The victim, 58-year-old Parang resident Ruben Aquit, died after he jumped from the truck as it fell off a bridge in Barangay Pigkalagan at around 4:30 p.m.

Two helpers, identified as Robert Aquit and Putch Saban, sustained injuries. They were brought to Cotabato Regional Medical Center for treatment.

One of the survivors said the brakes of the truck, which was loaded with “copra” and was bound for Davao City, may have malfunctioned. This caused Ruben to lose control of the vehicle.
