MANILA, Philippines – A man killed his wife in front of their children, and later committed suicide in Batangas on Tuesday.

Joel Labandilo shot his wife, Ria, in the head during a heated argument inside their house in Sto. Niño, San Pascual town at around 4:30 p.m.

The couple’s three children and their maid witnessed the shooting.

Joel immediately fled the scene using a Hyundai Starex, which he later abandoned in Barangay Sambat.

He rode a tricycle to go to his father’s office at the Batangas Bay Terminal Incorporated in Bauan town, where he shot himself in the head.

The couple’s family refused to give a statement on the incident. It was not revealed what caused the couple's fight. – report from Sarita Kare, ABS-CBN News Batangas
