MANILA - A low pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao has developed into Tropical Depression Crising, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

In its latest bulletin issued 5 p.m., PAGASA said Crising was last seen 750 kilometers east of General Santos City.

Public storm warning signal number 1 has been raised over Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Compostela Valley.

The storm is packing winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center.

Crising, which is moving west northwest at 19 kph, is forecast to be 350 kms east of General Santos City Tuesday and 40 kms southeast of Cotabato City by Wednesday afternoon.

PAGASA said Eastern Visayas and the regions of Caraga, Davao, and SOCCSKSARGEN may have moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms that may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

"Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides," the weather bureau said.

The storm is bringing an estimated rainfall amount from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate to heavy) within its 300 km diameter.

It advised owners of fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture out to the eastern seaboards of the country and over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon.

PAGASA will issue its next bulletin at 11 p.m.
